Truck carrying 200 pigs veers off the road

Two hundred pigs in transport became the victims when a the truck carrying them veered off the road in the far south on Monday morning. Swedish Radio reports that over 20 of them have been put to death after being injured in the crash.

Over half the pigs had been taken away from the site of the crash at lunchtime on Monday. No human was injured in the crash.

"We are getting the last 20 or so of the pigs out of the lake," said Peter Olsson with local rescue services. "It takes ten of us to get one pig out of the water."
