Study to show effect of swine flu vaccine

The most comprehensive study ever undertaken into a possible link between the sleeping disorder narcolepsy and a vaccine used to combat the swine flu pandemic willl be made public today by the Medical Products Agency.

During the outbreak of swine flu in 2010 a large part of the Swedish population was vaccinated with Pandemrix, which has subsequently been blamed for causing a rise in cases of narcolepsy.

The study will compare the health of 3.3 million Swedes who were vaccinated with Pandemrix with 2.5 million others who opted out of the flu vaccine program
