Concerns over out-of-work schemes

The enrollment of unemployed Swedish people in training or workplace programs does not function effectively, according to a research institute report.

While those who would benefit most from training are offered practical job experience, those selected to take part in more costly training programs would benefit most from job practice, according to a study by Sweden’s Institute of Evaluation of Labor Market and Educational Policy (IFAU).

Researchers evaluated the impact of job practice and training on 106,000 participants entering the programs between 1999 and 2006.
