Nearly half of vehicles flunk inspections

Last year, nearly two million vehicles inspected by Bilprovningen AB failed their inspections, according to news agency TT.

Of those, about a third had to return for follow-up inspections. Problems with brake systems were the most commonly occuring issue. About 13,000 vehicles were banned from the roads.

Bilprovningen AB has the lion's share of the inspection market (86 percent in 2012).
