Drivers urged to take caution as Easter holiday continues

With the Easter holiday comes heavy traffic, and at least three people died on the roads over the last few days, reports news agency TT.

The Swedish Transport Administration advises drivers to exercise caution as the long holiday weekend concludes on Easter Monday.

Meanwhile, the the Administration, along with the police and the construction company Peab made the decision to close a 50 kilometer stretch of the passing lane on the E4 between Tönnebro and Gävle, from 2pm until 7pm, to prevent accidents.

Conny Westerlund from the Administration admits it can be irritating for people, but so can it be if traffic comes to a complete stop for three or four hours. On Shrove Thursday, there was a total standstill on this stretch of the E4, and the authorities hope to prevent the situation from repeating.
