Digital leads music sales increase

Music sales in Sweden went up by 14 percent last year, according to figures from industry organizations. Much of the increase was in digital music, and today 63 percent of all music sales here are digital.

Swedish Radio News says that’s appreciably more than in the rest of the world.

Some 90 percent of the digital sales are for streaming services like Spotify or Rdio.

Vinyl sales also continue to increase here, but still only accounted for 1.4 percent of overall music sales in Sweden last year.
