Police under review after man found dead in sandbox

A man was found dead in a sandbox, after police ignored a phone call for help. Now the police are to be investigated over "losing" the call and failing to send out a patrol.

During the Easter holiday, a middle-aged man was found dead in a sandbox on the platform of Herrljunga station in south-west Sweden.

Police then said they had not been told about the man, despite a couple saying to Swedish Radio that they had reported a man sleeping in the box a week earlier.

The cause of death is not known, but the police are not treating the death as suspicious.
