The first coffins of Swedes killed by the Asian tsunami arrived home in the beginning of January

More Bodies Return Home

An aircraft from Thailand carrying the remains of victims of the Asian tsunami disaster will be arriving in Sweden on Tuesday.

Another five planes are scheduled to depart Phukets International airport Tuesday. Memorial services for loved ones are planned.  52 Swede’s are confirmed dead, and 786 are still missing.

In all, 289,000 people are believed to have died after one of the worst natural catastrophes in modern times.
