HMS Carlskrona, the Swedish Navy vessel taking part in Operation Atalanta, the EU’s anti-piracy off the Somali coast, has driven off a suspected pirate attack.

The TT news agency reports that the ship’s helicopter discovered a suspected pirate boat on the morning of April 12. When the helicopter began to follow the boat, which was of the same kind often used by pirates, it returned to land.

This is the third time Sweden has taken part in the EU mission, and the second time HMS Carlskrona has been participated.
