Ringdals Nuclear Power Plant

Environment Fears Over Power Plant Plans

Sweden’s biggest nuclear power plant, Ringhals wants to increase its production by 13 percent but the Swedish Radiation Protection Authority is reluctant to give it the go ahead on environmental grounds.

The SSI says the plant, which is situated on the west coast of Sweden, 60 kilometres south of Gothenberg, hasn’t shown the inclination or ability to use the best available technology in avoiding pollution.

A decision will be made by the environment court.
