Blue-and-yellow victory in Stanley Cup

After three years without any Swedes in a winning Stanley Cup team, the Chicago Black Hawks, with four Swedes onboard, beat Boston last night with 3-2 in the sixth final thereby claiming overall victory.

With just over a minute left to play, Chicago's Bryan Bickell, followed by team mate Dave Bolland, secured victory by scoring two goals within 17 seconds.

While Niklas Hjalmarsson entered an exclusive group of Swedes who have won the Stanley Cup more than once, fellow Chicago Swedes Johnny Oduya, Marcus Krüger and Viktor Stålberg were first-time winners of the cup.
