More Swedes want to buy cleaning help
The interest for making tax deductions for household services is on the increase in Sweden. It is believed that a higher acceptance for buying cleaning services is behind it.
In 2009 that the centre-right government introduced the possibility to deduct costs for household assistance, such as cleaning, from your tax. While many people in big cities jumped on the offer, the response was slower in rural areas.
But in the past few years, acceptance has grown, and in northern Sweden there was a 20 percent increase in tax deductions in the first half of 2013 compared to last year.
"When you hear that neighbours and colleagues bought these services and it worked well, then you're inclined to do it too," Pia Blank Thörnroos from the tax Authority tells TT News Agency.
