New hunt for "bat rabies" in Skåne

Swedish vets are testing bats in the south of the country for "bat rabies" or EBLV. Antibodies against the virus were first found in bats in Skåne back in 2009, news agency TT reports. However, no traces of the actual virus have yet been found in the bats, tested yearly.

The results of the study will determine what kind of medical action will be standard if someone gets bitten by a bat in the future, the news agency writes.
