Sjöström through to swimming semifinals

Swedish swimmer Sarah Sjöström came in second in the women's hundred meter butterfly heats when the Fina World Championships started in Barcelona, on Sunday. This qualifies her to compete in the semi-finals on Sunday evening.

Dana Vollmer, an Olympic champion from the US, beat Sjöström by six hundredths of a second, but Sjöström was very pleased.

"I'm really glad," she tells news agency TT, "this is exactly how the first race should be." The media has not been focusing much on Sjöström in the run-up to the race, since she decided to prioritize school after swimming in the Olympics in London.
