Swedish gold at Deaflympics

Sweden’s Anton Elofsson and Frederick Flink have set a new world record in the Bowling Men’s Doubles event at the 2013 Deaflympics, the world championships for the deaf.

The Swedish duo scored 2688 in taking the gold medal, finishing ahead of teams from South Korea and Germany. In the first round in the Bulgarian capital Sofia, Elofsson came as close as possible to scoring a perfect 300, but knocked down only 9 pins in his last throw, ending up with a 299.

Elofsson won the bronze medal in the individual competition on Saturday.
