Politician detained in Ethiopia back in Sweden
Swedish Green Party politician Mohamud Dayib has returned to Sweden after being detained and allegedly beaten by police earlier this month in Ethiopia.
He arrived in Gothenburg at midday Monday and is under observation at a local hospital.
Dayib was seized by police while on vacation with his wife and children in the Ogaden province of Ethiopa. It is still not known why he was detained.
Ogaden, close to the border with Somalia, is the war-torn region where two Swedish journalists, Martin Schibbye and Johan Persson, were arrested in 2011.
