Sjöström breaks Swe record to reach 100m final

Swedish swimmer Sarah Sjöström has made it to the finals of the 100m freestyle race in the World Swimming Championships in a Swedish record time of 52.87.

Sjöström was third after the turn but turned up the power in the second half of the race, to be the fastest qualifier for the final, due to be held tomorrow.

Sjöström has already won the 100m butterfly event in the championships in Barcelona.
