On a mission: Sweden's EU mininster

"Pride parades are a litmus test of human rights."
8:34 min

Encouraged by her father from an early age to stay true to her instincts as a feminist, Sweden's Minister for EU Affairs and Liberal Party MP, Birgitta Ohlsson, is an active defender of LGBT and human rights.

Ohlsson spoke to our reporter Nick Chipperfield this week about why she feels so strongly about LGBT rights, Sweden's role in the EU, European solidarity and her hopes for a more inclusive future.

But she began by describing why she feels it's important for her to attend Pride events, especially given that last week she was pelted with eggs at the Baltic Pride rally held in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius.
