Broken leg ignored for five months

A 95-year-old woman had a broken thigh bone for five months, which was only discovered when she moved to a new home for the elderly.

The woman had been living in a home in Härnösand in the north of the country, and had been given painkillers, but no x-ray was taken. She later moved to a new home in Stockholm where staff noticed the problem and took her to hospital, where the broken femur was discovered, news agency TT reports.
