Demonstrators hoist own rainbow flag

When a local council in neighbouring Södertälje refused to fly the rainbow flag to celebrate Stockholm Pride, a local youth organisation intervened and flew their own rainbow flag over the council building instead.

Local politicians had said that they did not celebrate events that were not happening within the boundaries of their municipality, Swedish Television news reports, but members of the youth group Molto refused to accept the explanation. So, Friday evening they hoisted their own rainbow flag on a flagpole outside Södertälje city hall.
