The hot weather this summer has led to more drowning accidents, according to the Swedish Lifesavers Association.

Four people died this weekend alone, one of them in a waterway in central Stockholm. The majority of victims are men.

Anders Wernersten from the association told news agency TT, "The hot weather is a factor, unfortunately, lots of people head to the water. You can think that the numbers of those drowning shouldn't go up what with all the information on how you should behave in the water, but unfortunately that isn't the case."
