Power cut leaves thousands in the dark

On Monday afternoon, 12,000 households in northern Stockholm were left without electricity as a massive power cut hit the suburbs of Järfälla, Sollentuna and Upplands Väsby.

"The fault happened in connection with repairs on another power cut in Upplands Väsby," Louis Gudmundsson, a spokeswoman for energy company Eon, told news agency TT. She added: "We are out there now and we are working on addressing the fault."

The power went out just before 4:00 PM on Monday and Eon said the problem should be fixed by Monday evening.
