Syrian musician Omar Souleyman, who was denied permission to visit Sweden because of fears that he would request asylum, has been granted a visa to travel to Sweden and perform at the Way Out West festival in Gothenburg tomorrow evening.

Mina Tosi, the manager of Souleyman's band, described the reversal of the consulate's decision as a small miracle.

"I feel that all of the media attention made it impossible for the consulate in the long term to maintain their previous position. And I think that they have realized that the risk of Omar Souleyman seeking asylum is infintesimal," she added.
