Spotify founder not welcome at Google
Swedish entrepreneur Daniel Ek, the founder of music streaming site Spotify, is no longer welcome at Google's office in New York City, news agency TT reports.
"They had enough of me when I recruited one of their employees while I sat in there cafeteria eating a free lunch," he told the Wall Street Journal.
Competition for the quickly growing market for streamed music is heating up. IT giants like Apple, Microsoft and Google are all rivals of Sweden's Spotify.
According to the WSJ, Spotify AB now boasts 20 million songs and 24 million users, a quarter of whom pay $10 a month for extra services.
