Train passengers travelling to and from Stockholm Sunday are experiencing delays due to a broken aerial line in Järna, south of Södertälje. A train hit the line on Saturday night, causing a widespread powercut.

The train has since been removed and repairs are underway, according to the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket).

The power outage affects long-distance trains between Stockholm and Hallsberg, Gothenburg and Malmö, as well as commuter trains between Södertälje and Gnesta.

There are also severe delays to trains travelling between Kiruna and Boden in the north due to a freight train derailing between Nattavara and Gällivare. According to the Transport Administration, the route will be closed next week, too.
