Peter Mangs confesses to murder

Convicted serial killer Peter Mangs has confessed to one of the two murders he was found guilty of committing.

Mangs told newspaper Sydsvenskan that he shot to death Trez West Person in Malmö in October 2009, and that he wounded her companion.

During his trial Mangs denied committing any of the crimes he was charged with. He was found guilty of two murders and four counts of attempted murder in Malmö between December 2009 and October 2010, and received a life sentence.

Most of his victims were of immigrant origin.

Asked by Sydsvenskan why he had not confessed earlier, Mangs said “I didn’t want to recognize the authority of the court”. He also said that while he does not regret any of his actions, he is sorry for the human suffering he has caused.
