Swedish media see steep fall in ad sales

Advertising sales in print media in Sweden continued to fall steeply during the summer months, with tabloids the hardest hit.

According to the organisation Sveriges Mediebyråer, tabloids' advertising sales dropped by 45 percent. In television - the biggest market for media advertising - there was a drop, too. However, sales on the internet are on the rise.

Overall, advertisers' media investments fell by nine and eight percent in June and July, respectively. So far in 2013, there has been a seven percent drop.
