No buyers for Orrefors glassworks

The Orrefors glassworks is closing down for good, according to an announcement by its owner, New Wave Group.

New Wave Group previously said that they were in negotiations with several prospective buyers of the glassworks, which closed on July 12th. No deal was struck, however, Swedish Television reports.

"As far as the glass production goes, this is definite," Magnus Andersson, CEO of Orrefors Kosta Boda told news agency TT.

The glassworks was founded in 1898, and started producing its famous crystals and glass products in 1914.
