Italian Prime Minister Berlusconi is unhappy at being used in a Swedish Television campaign

Italy Questions Swedish TV’s anti-Bersluconi Ad

The Swedish ambassador in Rome has been called to the Italian foreign ministry to explain a Swedish public service television ad claiming Italian Prime Minister Berlusconi controls 90% of Italian television, used this to get re-elected and changed laws trying to limit his control.

The Swedish social democratic minister of culture refuses to comment on the case, while some Swedish political party leaders say they are chocked over television getting involved in foreign policy.

The opposition left party leader maintains that the tv’s statements are justified and need not be retracted.
