Baseball and softball in Sweden are admittedly small sports here. Yet Sweden fields one of the best national baseball teams in Europe. This year’s domestic season has just ended, and the play-offs start next weekend.

The Stockholm Baseball Club, which has won the Swedish championships two out of the last three years, has had a batting cage this week at the We are Stockholm festival, an event for young people at the Kungsträdgården park in the center of the city. With more than 175,000 visitors expected over the five days, it’s one of the largest youth events in Europe, with attractions in entertainment, culture…and sports.
