Swedish exports to Egypt halved

Sweden's exports to Egypt during this year's first quarter was nearly half compared to the same period last year, Swedish Radio News reports. One of the biggest export products to Egypt from Sweden is timber. A boat with timber from the company Uni 4 Marketing is expected to arrive in Alexandria this week, but the CEO Anders Marklund is cautious about the future.

"For the month of September and onwards we are waiting and seeing until we know how things go this week. If there is more violence and bigger problems we will put it on hold," he says. According to Marklund many exporters are concerned about the Egyptian businesses ability to pay.
