Second attack on woman at centre of hijab protest

Police say the woman who reported an islamophobic attack last Friday has again been assaulted.

"She was assaulted outside in the morning by unknown perpetrators who told her to drop her police report. She has been to the hospital and had visible injuries," says Towe Hägg at the county police to newspaper Mitt i Stockholm.

The woman, who is pregnant, reported an attack last Friday in the Stockholm suburb of Farsta, to the south.east. She has said that she did not see who attacked her, but that he made a reference to the veil she was wearing and then slammed her head against her car.

Last Friday's attack caused activists to mount a protest via social media, which led to them meeting the Justice Minister, Beatrice Ask.

The latest attack took place in Haninge, in the far south-east of Stockholm.
