Three trapped in underground mine found safe

The three people who were missing after the fire in Kristineberg underground mine in Västerbotten have been found. According to the police, they are "all in good health, but exhausted". 

Two of the three men who had been missing are firefighters. Nineteen other miners were locked inside a safety chamber as the fire broke out 1,000 metres underground.

The fire was extinguished at around 2 P.M.

Kristineberg mine was commissioned in 1940 and is the oldest mine in operation in the Boliden Area. A total of 240 people work at the mine, which goes down to 1,300 meters below surface. The Boliden Area is located in the mineral-rich Skellefteå field.

Two weeks ago there was a fire in a mine in Garpenberg in Dalarna. About 30 people were working in the mine at the time.
