karlskoga awarded game after protest

Stockholm and Karlskoga to baseball finals

Stockholm and Karlskoga have has won through to the finals of this year’s Swedish baseball championships.

Stockholm beat cross-town rivals Sundbyberg in three straight games, taking the best-of-five series.

But while games one and two were decisive away victories, 17-0 and 13-0, game three was anything but, with Stockholm at home scoring a run in the bottom of the 10th inning to win 3-2.

In the other semi-final, a repeat of last year’s finals matchup, defending champions Karlskoga defeated Leksand 11-7, having been awarded both of last weekend’s games.

Initially it appeared that Leksand had won Sunday’s game 8-6, splitting the series. But after Karlskoga protested that Leksand had fielded an unqualified  player, the Swedish baseball authorities awarded the game to Karlskoga 9-0.
