Billion krona profits for SAS
Scandinavian Airlines SAS has posted a substantial pretax profit for the third quarter, news agency TT reported. The SEK 1.12 billion earnings for the period of May-July surpasses the SEK 726 million gain a year ago.
"It is gratifying that our robust and sweeping restructuring program is having the anticipated effect," Chief Executive Rickard Gustafson said in a statement. "Our forecast of achieving positive earnings for the full-year remains firmly in place."
Sales amounted to SEK 11.59 billion, compared to SEK 11.63 kronor a year earlier. The airline, which was on shaky economic footing in 2012, said it expects to make a profit for its for 2013.
