Refugee sent home before case was settled

Police sent a 22-year-old refugee from Uganda home before his asylum case had been fully settled by Sweden's Migration Board, news agency TT reported.

Living in the southern town of Kosta, the man's asylum plea was initially rejected but, a few days before his scheduled expulsion, he submitted an appeal to the Migration Board. That matter was not settled before police picked him up and sent him home, TT reported.

Kronoberg County police said they are investigating the situation.

"We are looking seriously at this and want to check if we have done something wrong," Robert Loeffel, a information officer at Kronoberg's police, told TT.
