Sweden face Ireland this evening in an important World Cup soccer qualifier. Sweden need at least a point from the game to keep the dream of playing in the finals in Brazil next year alive.

However, history is not on the side of the Swedes. They have not won an away match against the Irish since 1949, news agency TT reports.

Sweden are just ahead of Ireland in their qualifying group thanks to better goal difference.
