More Swedish classes for younger immigrants
The Swedish education for newly arrived immigrant children will receive a boost in the next budget, which will be presented by the government next week. The 225 million additional kroner will mean that children in year 1-5 at school will get another three lessons of Swedish per week.
The slightly older children, in year 6-9 at school are receiving the extra classes already from this semester, thanks to an increase in the budget for this year. The younger children will receive the extra classes from next year onwards.
