Welfare scam trial under way

A total of 35 people will go on trial today for aggravated fraud in connection with a suspected major welfare scam in Södertälje, a suburb south of Stockholm.
The two main suspects are alleged to have duped the Swedish Social Insurance Agency out of some SEK 30 million in false claims.
The duo allegedly sent invoices to health officials for home visits by dozens of care workers that were never took place.
