The first cases of sewer rats and mice immune to rat poison have been discovered in Sweden, according to Aniticimex, a company which removes unwelcome pests from homes and companies.

Eighty rats from throughout the country were tested in the study, which showed that rats and mice resistant to poison were present in four cities: Kristianstad, Uppsala, Linköping och Växjö.

"We have always suspected that there was a problem with immunity to poision, but now this has been confirmed," says Jörgen Gullstrand of Anticimex.
