Weather service warns: Heavy rain expected

National weather service SMHI has issued a weather warning, as brisk winds and large amounts of rain are expected to hit the southern part of Norrland.

A Class One warning, the lowest level of risk on a three-step scale, means that there is some risk to the general public and a possible disturbance of services.

A deep low pressure zone currently situated west of Scandinavia has already brought showers over southern and central parts of the country. Now the rain is moving towards northwards, where the rain will intensify. Approximately 35 centimeters of rain may fall, which in some cases may lead to local flooding.
