The indictment revealed details of a long running investigation into a suspected cocaine ring, bringing charges of serious drug trafficking, serious drug offenses, aiding aggravated drug offenses, drug offenses and doping violations. Mikael Presbrandt is accused of only playing a small part in the big case.
The prosecutor told Swedish Television SVT that they have proof, through bugging the actor's telephone, that he bought 12 ounces of cocaine from a taxi driver named Bosse. The actor though was not found in possession of the drug and denied the charge in interviews, where he stated that "There must be someone who borrowed my phone", and added that he did not know the taxi driver in question, named Bosse. The actor pleaded guilty to two separate charges of drugs possession in 2011.
Three men on Thurdsay were indicted for smuggling into Sweden 64 kilograms of amphetamine and two kilos of cocaine in May last year. A courier was alleged to have smuggled the drugs from the Netherlands to Sweden. The trip went through Germany and Helsingborg and onwards, according to the preliminary investigation.
"The offenses are serious because they relate to a particularly large amount of drugs, and form part of internationally organized activities undertaken on a large scale," the prosecutor said. Nine men were also indicted for selling large quantities of cocaine in central Stockholm. It is alleged that over one kilogram of cocaine was sold to 180 people , under the code name "Taxi Tony ," during several months.
