Password protection not a priority for many Swedes

Six in ten Swedes change passwords less than once a year, according to a survey by the magazine "PC för alla". Seven in ten Swedes also use the same password for several different websites, the magazine found.

News editor Andreas Thors told the magazine: "It doesn't matter how good the security is in your e-mail service if someone can get hold of your log-in details by hacking a less secure forum."

The magazine recommends mixing capital letters and numbers into the password, and making them long, news agency TT reports.

A total of 7000 people took part in the survey.
