Captured Swedish journalists publish article about time in Syria

The report two Swedish journalists were working on when kidnapped by an unknown group in Syria has now been published by newspapers Dagens Nyheter and Aftonbladet.

Magnus Falkehed and Niclas Hammarström were investigating the plight of the victims of the civil war in the country, and were preparing to leave when they were captured towards the end of last year.

They were released just under two weeks ago after negotiations between the Swedish authorities and the kidnappers. Their equipment with their work and photographs were also returned.

They were in Syria as freelancers, but had previously worked regularly for Aftonbladet and Dagens Nyheter, and both newspapers were involved in the work to free the men, and both decided to also publish the article.
