Fast food boss warns staff of government change

The CEO of the hamburger bar Max is criticised after telling his employees in a letter that "it would be a complete disaster" if the red-green opposition parties won the next election.

In his monthly newsletter to 400 managers at the hamburger chain, CEO Richard Bergfors wrote "It is election year and if the opposition wins the elections they want to increase the sales tax for restaurants as well as the pay roll tax for young people. It would be a complete disaster for us and this line of business."

This has been seen by critics as the boss telling his employees how they should vote. But Richard Bergfors does not think there is any problems in how he phrased the newsletter.

"this is not about politics, it is a factual matter. We are completely politically independent. This is by far the most important questions for us and for the whole line of business during the foreseeable future." he told Swedish Radio P3 news

Asked if he does not think it looks like him telling people how they should vote, Bergfors answered: "absolutely not."
