Veteran Swede through to Grand Slam doubles final

36-year-old Robin Lindstedt has made it to the Australian Open doubles final with reserve partner Lukasz Kubot, from Poland. The Swede and his playing partner beat Michael Llodra and Nicolas Mahut of France  6-4, 6-7, 6-3 in the semis.

Robin Lindstedt is hoping to go one better than his record in another Grand Slam at Wimbledon where he lost three consecutive doubles finals between 2010-2012. he told Aftonbladet: "Yes, it would be great. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't happen that's ok too." 

Sweden tasted doubles success in Melbourne in 2002 with Jonas Björkman and Thomas Johansson. Lindstedt and Kubot meet Eric Butorac, USA and Raven Klaasen, South Africa in the final on Saturday.
