No bomb in package delivered to newspaper

A suspicious package that led to the evacuation of two major media companies in Gothenburg, on Thursday afternoon, turned out not to contain any explosives, according to police. The package had been delivered to newspaper GT.

The package had been delivered to newspaper GT.

The police bomb squad destroyed the package, and the Kungstorget central square is no longer sealed off.

Police spokeswoman Jenny Widén says to news agency TT that a note was attached to the package with a text that they saw as a threat, and police are still investigating the incident as an illegal threat.

Newspaper GT itself says the package was addressed to the editors of GT and tabloid Expressen, which is owned by the same company.
