Being sick stinks

Have you ever noticed a change in how your body smells when you become ill?

A new study from Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, led by Mats J. Olsson, looks at the connection between the body's scent and the immune system's defence against illness. The more sick we become, the stronger the odor our body emits.

"From an evolutionary perspective, the point seems clearly to help us keep away from sick people in order to avoid getting sick ourselves," Mats J. Olsson told news agency TT.
