Fighting erupted at Sweden Democrat protest

Fighting erupted at a protest held by the Sweden Democrats' youth wing, SDU, Friday afternoon in Stockholm when a group of people who opposed the protest tried to break it up, news agency TT reports.

Roughly 100 people were at the square Medborgarplatsen in downtown Stockholm when the fighting started. One person was arrested and another was forced to leave the area.

The youth wing protested that they will not receive a grant from the Swedish National Board for Youth Affairs, marking the third time that the Board has declined SDU's application.

When the protest was over the police had to escort most of the Sweden Democrat youth wing members from the premises.
