Author Henning Mankell has cancer

Henning Mankell, best known for his best-selling crime books about detective Kurt Wallander, wrote in Göteborgs Posten (GP) that he has been diagnosed with life-threatening cancer. He has a tumor in his neck and another in his left lung.

"My anxiety is great," Mankell wrote in GP. He will begin writing in GP about his experience with cancer. "I have decided to write from life's perspective, not death's".
